INGREDIENTS:

2 lbs. chicken drumsticks. If using drumsticks, remove the skin.
For the Marinate:

2 tbsp. lemon juice.

1 tbsp. garlic paste.
-
1 tbsp. ginger paste.
-
1/2 tsp. red chili powder.
-
1/2 tsp. black pepper (freshly ground).
-
Salt to taste.
For the Coating
-
1 cup breadcrumbs.
-
2 eggs.
-
Salt to taste.
-
1/2 tsp. black pepper freshly ground.
-
A pinch of red chili powder.
To Deep Fry.
-
4 to 5 cups vegetable oil for frying.

To Deep Fry.

METHOD:

Put the chicken in a large non-metallic mixing bowl and add the lemon juice, garlic paste, ginger paste, red chili powder, pepper, and salt to it.

Mix very well so that the chicken is thoroughly coated with the marinade ingredients. Marinate for 30 – 45 mins.

Cover the mixing bowl with cling wrap and refrigerate to marinate.

When you are ready to fry the chicken, prepare the coating ingredients by laying them all out. Start by laying the breadcrumbs out on a flat plate.

Heat oil in a deep pan, on medium heat. You do not want the oil to be too hot as this will cause the chicken to burn on the outside and remain raw on the inside.

Crack the eggs into a bowl and whisk until smooth. Now add the salt to taste, freshly ground black pepper, and a pinch of red chili powder. Whisk again to mix well.

When the oil is hot, roll each piece of chicken in the breadcrumbs to coat well.

Dip each piece in the whisked egg mixture and gently drop it into the hot oil.

Depending on the size of your pan you can fry more than a piece of chicken at a time, but do not crowd them.

Turn the chicken pieces occasionally. The chicken is done when it turns golden. Serve hot with mint chutney.

MOUTH-WATERING FRIED CHICKEN RECIPES
CLASSIC SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN
INGREDIENTS
- 2 – Large Eggs
- 1 1/2 – Cups Milk
- 2 1/2 – Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Tablespoons – Salt
- 1 Packet – Zorabian’s Chicken Cubes
- 2 Tablespoons – Black Pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying.
DIRECTIONS
- Gather all the ingredients and not to forget, do preheat the oven to 200 F
- Mix the milk and eggs well in a separate bowl.
- In a large food storage bag, combine flour, 2 tablespoons of salt, and pepper. Shake it well to ensure they blend well.
- Immerse the chicken pieces in the egg and milk blend.
- Zorabian’s chicken pieces which were immersed in milk and egg mixture, also need to be added to seasoned flour.
- Finally, coat all the chicken pieces with flour thoroughly.
- Now add some oil to the pan and heat it at 350 F. Keep some paper towels to drain off the excess oil.
- Then fry the chicken pieces until the meat turns light golden brown. Make sure you don’t add too much of chicken pieces together in the pan, which shall impact the crispiness of the end product. So go slow but go, pro.
- When the fried chicken is sufficiently cooked, put them onto a paper towel, and let it drain off the excess oil.
- Meanwhile add some salt, or other spices as per your needs and preferences.
- Finally, Bon Appetite, cherish the dish to your heart’s content.
