- Two large onions sliced very thinly
- Two large tomatoes also sliced very thinly
- Two huge green chillies, slit lengthwise
- Curry leaves, approximately one handful
- Ginger-garlic paste, two tablespoons
- Chilli Powder, two tablespoons
- Coriander Powder, approximately two tablespoons
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, also known as manjal podi
- 2 teaspoons of garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder, also known as jeera podi
- Salt to taste
- Two tablespoons of oil
- Three tablespoons of coriander leaves, freshly chopped
For Grinding:
- Fresh Coconut – one-half cup grated
- Poppy Seeds / Khus Khus / Kasa Kasa – Two tablespoons
- Cinnamon Stick / Pattai – one-fourth of an inch piece
- 1 tablespoon of Fennel Seeds also known as Saunf
HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN MASALA
